Coming Events

2017:  This is going to be another exciting year at the shop as we find ourselves steeped in  Classic American Traditions that are a part of our recogniz002able style.  You can be assured we still remain committed and inspired by the “Primitive” and  “Natural Farmhouse Style” that is sweeping into the home goods that the shop is showing through out the year.  You will note our colors in the quilts we are showing are relevant too.

2017 will be no exception to my rules.   I will continue to keep an emphasis on modernizing history in the 20th- century home but  try to preserve the unique character and beauty with our fabric and home goods choices.  You will see  how we merge the reproduction fabrics and furnishings into the decor  creating a style that is easy and comfortable to live with.  It is a cleaner and more organized look I think you will find appealing.

Peace, Love and Purpose!

What A Grand Olde Event this

Dates for 2018 Event:

May 7th through May 11th !!!

Our Design Team for 2018:

Paula Barnes Red Crinoline, Linda Lautenschlager, and

Carol Hopkins

Indigo projects are our theme

*****Please Note:  Projects posted are from 2017.

Carol’s project is called “Mrs. Lincoln”  what a grand olde year this will be!  My new Riverbanks fabric is what is used for this wonderful quilt project.

Again this year our event is all about the Civil War Era and that’s because our designers love it as much as we do.  We have a great event planned for you this year and it will be different

because this year we have a Lincoln theme.  Carol just sent out an announcement that will get you all excited.

Attendees at last summer’s Grand Olde Flag gathering expressed an interest in having a block exchange as part of the 2017 GOF activities.  In response, Carol has selected a simple, easily-constructed 5″ x 5″ block and created procedures for an exchange which involves making blocks at home and bringing them to the event.

When we gather, we will exchange blocks and Carol will provide options for setting together each quilter’s cache of approximately 120 scrappy blocks.  Additionally, she will assist you in selecting perfect borders and optional setting pieces from the fabric treasures awaiting you in the shop.  More information about the block she has chosen, fabric selection, and directions for constructing it, will be provided to those who register for GOF week.  You’re going to love this quilt and its constant reminder of the friendships we make each year at this special event.

. We will keep you busy Monday through Friday.  We have 10 state

s represented for this gathering.  So thrilled!

The fee to be determined for the trio.

2018  Summer Camp for Stitchers

“Stitch Camp”@ 133 Jefferson featuring the

Stitch-Camp-4(designer Vickie Jennett)

“Needle WStitch-Camp-3orkPress”

from Chandler, Arizona & our Guest for Mini Camp is Stacy Nash projects shown from 2017

We are so excited to have Vicki and her daughter in law Maegan who will be assisting Vicki, she loves to reproduce antiques and this year she will bring us the “Jane Horton Sampler”  How perfect, don’t you think?

She does amazing paper products and will delight you with an amazing trunk show.  Vicki goes the distance to maStitch-Campke things fun and exciting and you can see that by looking at the pictures she and Megan have shared.

I hope you will plan on joining us Button-Lanyardbecause we know this will be a camp to remember.  registration is open and deposits will be taken April 1st.

Summer Fun and then Some…

So what exactly are we going to do for camp?  The little “Jane Horton” sampler which by chance exclusively was reproduced for Country Sampler. The girls have saved up some great ephemera and paper so that everyone can make their own cigar treasure boxes complete with knobs on the front.  You will be making a camp journal chocked full of fun motifs, quotes and space for your comments and doodles.  Remember the old “gimp” lanyards, well they have got a fun adaptation of those to include charms featuring some of there favorite things dangling from a long metal chain.  It will be a weekend of camp craft fun!

About your design team:  Vickie grew up in York, PA, moved to AZ.  She majored in journalism and has been creating reproduction and original designs for Needlework Press with her talented daughter in law Maegan.   Maegan has always had a passion for stitching since her grandma taught her to stitch and camp was always a favorite adventure..   Considering all of this, this makes our dual a perfect fit.   The have taught in Washington,  Arizona, Maryland, on Cape Cod and in Texas and they now add to that impressive list Wisconsin.  I hope you will all be ready to join us for this amazing camp gathering.  Vickie has an amazing collection of antique samplers so she will not run out of samplers to reproduce for some time.  Good news for all of us.

Leave your worries at home, but you will need to bring a few things for working on your camp projects.  If you have old or new paper or fabric that’s special to you, bring it so it can be incorporated into one of your projects.. Stitching scissors, paper scissors, and your favorite light. Remember  good camp counselors are always prepared and they will have supplies on hand if you forget something and the camp cook, Selma, will keep your palate happy .

Ladies somehow things see to work out we just had to be patient.  Vickie gets in later than expected on Thursday and when we said we were hoping to have a surprise guest, it has worked out for us!

Stacy Nash is coming in and holding the mini camp class like Blackbird did last year on Thursday July 6th.  We will start her class at noon and hopefully finish by six in time for our meet and greet with Vickie and Maegan.

Wait until you see her AMAZING project.  I was screaming immediately, it is going to be a wonderful addition to camp.  Spread the word we have room for a crowd. Call ASAP to get registered.  Places you can stay:  Spring Green Motel  608-588-2141,  Hill Street B&B 608-588-7751, House on the Rock Resort  608-588-7000, and the Round Barn Lodge 608-588-2568

Gather Your Friends and Join Us!

Tuesday September 5th – Sunday September 10th

This  idea is something I’ve been contemplating doing for awhile and 2015 is the year AND IT WAS SUPER 016SUCCESSFUL thanks to our wonderful customers.  We will not be attending Quilt Expo this year either.  The travel, the packing and unpacking is very hard on all of us so I hope this will be an incentive to visit us in Spring Green.  I know many of you do already on your way to this event so you will get a great opportunity to see all of “New Fall  Quilt Collection” before the show even opens a005nd all during.  We will be turning the “SchoolRoom” into a huge showroom which beats the crammed  20ft. space you are used to seeing us in.   We will have our travel cases full of all of the new quilts you are used to seeing at the show.  We will have treats for you and a festive atmosphere for shopping.  We are dreaming Big!   I am still thinking bigger and we may offer a model sale which I will confirm at a later date.  We shop girls are all excited to start a new tradition and hopefully one you will not want to miss.
