Holidays at Home

Here is your 2019 passport to the most wonderful time of the year don’t miss the adventure at 133.  As the clock tics we are inching closer to the big day and it is our wish for everyone that you all can enjoy a Merry Christmas with the ones you love.

Peace and Goodwill Sampler by Chessie and Me.

The months and days have gone so fast peeps I find myself behind on all the preparations that need tending. I am going to put a few new pictures up so you can see new models that have arrived over the past couple months since I originally blogged on the holiday transition we traditionally like to do.

These adorable Pinkeeps are from With thy Needle, Merry Old Soul and Peppermint Pals

These little Pinkeeps are just the latest we have stitched this season.  It really has been the year for our designers to give us many pinkeep reasons to stitch.  The pinkeeps on the left are by With thy Needle.  “Merry Old Soul” is the adorable Santa and “Peppermint Pals” is the great snowman.  we have kits available online so if you are wondering what to work on during the winter months these might fit the bill.  The Sampler on the right is a new Chessie and Me called “Peace and Goodwill”.  It has been a real favorite, I converted it to overdyed threads as we usually don’t do silks if called for because it really drives up the kit cost and I love using the beautiful colors we have at our hand.

O Christmas Tree Sampler

The beautiful sampler to your right is called “O Christmas Tree” and is by Samplers Not Forgotten.  Re have had to re-kit because of its popularity and the kit cost has changed since this is an older sampler.  Our kit sells for $54.00.  I love the borders, the tree and urn and everything about it.  It lives at my home.  I am sure its a Balsam or Fraser so if you can’t have real this is a good alternative and a fun sampler to stitch..

Every year is so different because it just has to be, I buy great greens for the door, your tables, your mantel and amazing trees from pine to tinsel to tin and not to be forgotten bottle brush trees and wreaths.  I think there is nothing better than a great scent of holiday when family and guests arrive  Mer Sea’s Sea Pine is one of the best pine scents ever and welcomes the holidays.

Santas are just part of Christmas and enhance our wonderful signature pieces that will make your holiday decor memorable, that’s Christmas!  We are using lots of traditional red and green throughout the season and it’s beautiful rather its quilts or traditional pinkeeps and samplers .  From antique quilts to new if it’s red or green it says Christmas to us.

This my favorite red and white quilt it is an old Ocean Waves yes it’s worn but loved and speaking of Worn and Loved which was my very first line of

reproduction fabric I have gotten out one of the quilts from the line and am displaying it at

Riverbanks this season.  It is festive and if there is a tree or Santa involved it’s going to look quite swell.

Handwork for the holidays!

Remember how I was telling you how popular the pinkeeps the designers have given us this year have been?  Well look at the wooden dough bowl filled with them, add greens, some holiday ribbon and they will definitely become a conversation piece with your holiday guests.

Holiday Pinkeeps

December Snow Quilt

This Mary’s quilt called “December Snow”

it was in the window but most people missed how stunning it is so we brought it front and center.  It is a topper sized at 56″ x 56″. The kits are $132.00.

pattern is needed for $9.00.

Another popular pinkeep is shown in the little sugar plum sleigh.  it is called “Jingle Bells”.

We are kind of over the moon as we introduce our new 133 holiday and 2019 Winter Quilt Collection. The new collection has been designed to dress your beds, tables, accent sofas just about any room in your house and then there is some really swell new stitchery you are going to find hard to resist.  Welcome to our 133 holidays at home!

The beauty of Christmas is the wonderful use of red and green hughs to deck your halls.

This year we had an amazing duvet made, quilted shams, and we made up one of my favorite quilts from my antique

collection.  We are calling it “Barberry Baskets” because the setting fabric is barberries from Edyta Sitar’s fabric line.  It is a great winter quilt selection and very popular

with our open house guests.  The quilt measures 65′ x 76″ and the kit sells for $119.00.  The pattern was written for us by Mary Boldt.

The new “Reindeer Feed Sack” was another popular addition to our holiday cross stitch projects this year.  Loving Weeks 28 count gingham fabric, we used tin roof on the reindeer project and then I stitched “Yes, Virginia” on the aztec red gingham.    The Reindeer kit is $56.00 and Virginia is $48.00.  This season it has been quite fun to see all the new lanterns that have surfaced.   We have so many and the ned led candles are now available in so many new sizes to fit the lanterns.

When it comes to green I have a hard time telling you my most favorite quilt because everyone is different and unique in it’s own way.  I will begin with “Tannenbaum” this tree is so amazing I can’t even begin to tell you, you need to see it for yourself.   Tannenbaum is pieced and has some applique that just becomes the frosting it measures 46 1/2 x 64 1/2.  Barb made up this model for me.  The pattern is $20.00 and the kit is $102.00.

We have a couple of great companion pieces, on your right over the bed we have Tannenbaum and  “Mistletoe” is  the quilt on the bed on the left.  Barb also took the appliqued center that was on the original pattern and made a wonderful table topper she called  “Mistletoe Feathered Star”  we have only five of these kits left it has amazing fabric choices that really sold the topper.  The topper measures 30″ x 30″ and sells for $46.00. You will need the Mistletoe pattern and Barb has an insert in her kit.

We were all in agreement that the quilt would be pieced but we all liked the applique border as a great finishing touch and of course that is an option.  The quilt measures out to be 67″ x 76″ and the kit is $143.50.  Remember the same pattern is needed for the quilt and the topper and it is priced at $15.00.  All of these coordinate so well even  Stacy Nash’s “Fresh Picked Pinkeep”.

It’s been awhile since I fell in love with a tinsel tree, it’s 5 foot tall and sells for $295.00.  This one is one of the best I’ve seen it even comes with the lights and so pretty with the topper and our deer and Santas.  The deer have been crazy popular this year and we are trying to order more because several styles have already sold out.

I have one more tree to talk about and that is Mary’s “Balsam Hill Wall Hanging” it includes the backing and binding in the kit for $68.75.  We even added a flange to make it festive.  The size is 36″ x 42″ and you do need to buy the pattern for $9.00.  There is always something fun about an advent calendar so when we saw this one we knew it would be fun to make up and even more fun to fill and use.  The “Merriment Advent Calendar” kit sells for $31.00 and measures out to be 21″ x 21″.

The woodland creatures have been showing up a lot this year, it must be the deer obsession.  We have beautiful stockings of the deer and snowy owl and Mary did the most magical “Woodland Christmas” coverup a great piece for your cabin for sure.  It is 55″ x  70″ and the kit is $148.00, you will want the cuddle backing which makes it feel amazing and it sells for $49.50.  Who doesn’t love cozy for winter. The cuddle she used for backing and binding are what completes it all.  FYI :Cuddle quilted on any quilt makes for a cozy cover up everyone will fight over. We used  great Moda flannels from Lisa B., a swell Merriment panel we

fussy cut, cotton prints and cuddle so it has texture and is really a great winter project to consider.

You can see Mary’s new table runner in the picture on the left.  This is “Hollyberry Star “.  It measure 17″ x 42”, the backing is included in the kit for $58.50.  You will need the pattern @$9.00 to complete.

We do love to light up the season.  Our LED trees are so beautiful we have two sizes and using them in an entry with mirrors to catch the reflection on your holiday buffet you would certainly catch the eyes of your guests.   Notice more of the new sizes of battery candles and candelabra, it makes a table look quite festive.  Our architectural columns are so fun to decorate with there are so many ideas for these and I love how the sparkly bottle brush wreaths look on them.

I would be amiss if I didn’t show you our model of Autumn Saltboxes, we di d up the summer and the winter just

Autumn Saltboxes

arrived so we will be doing them as well.  Best ever houses and I chose to mont on great textured Diamond fabrics which really adds to the overall presentation.

“Shades of Green” is another classic quilt made to bridge into the winter months and how amazing is the panel next to it.  The White led battery lantern is good too.  This quilt it 48″ x 64″.  I think it is good anytime but with the season

Shades of Green Quilt 48″ x 64″ kits are 101.50

we were ready to bring it out.  The kit is selling for $101.50 and the pattern is needed for $9.00.

I love to keep my antique quilts visible when changing up the decor for the season.  I have two that are finding

their way into the photos this year.

I believe they can be the added touch you might be looking for.  So hall out the holly, deck the halls and Fa La La La!  Tis the season!  From all of us at the 133 Sampler we wish you a Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year.  See you all in 2020!
